Why is Representative Conyers bill HB676 not being analyzed and discussed as real healthcare reform that removes profit driven administrative costs from the equation and covers everyone and allows for the doctor of your choice.

Health care should be a right, not a privilege.

Republicans love to talk about people "taking responsibility for their actions." Can we count on you to support investigations, and if appropriate prosecutions of wrong doing during the past administration. After all, I am sure our conservative friends would want to make sure that criminals are made to be "accountable for their own actions!!!!

What is Congress going to do to wean us from our dependence on oil - which is a threat to our national security, our economy, and our environment - and what will we replace it with?

How should we provide adequate oversight to banks and Wall Street to make sure they can't take down the economy again?

Too many of our fellow citizens live in poverty. I am afraid that the current concerns over our economic recession focus to such a great extent on the woes of the middle class that those living at the margins of our society are being overlooked. We need to re-examine the underlying causes of both rural and urban poverty, and look for fresh solutions to the problems. Lifting people out of poverty will help our entire economy!

Removing government subsidies (over time) of chemically produced, GMO, large scale monoculture agriculture will close the cost gap between healthy local food and corporate farmed produce. This will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emisions involved in transport, incentivise people to eat better food and thereby reduce healthcare costs, and support local economies in a way that allows local capital to recirculate in communities and fund sustainable economic growth that puts the local community health and prosperity first. Think Global, Act Local.

EPA is not "Enrichment-Protection Agency". The EPA should ensure that breathing safe air, drinking clean water & growing food in non-toxic soils is provided & protected as a vitally higher priority than protecting freedom of material enrichment.

There can be no democracy where private funding determines the outcome of elections. If you are beholden to corporate interests for your re-election how will you choose to vote? In the public interest or...?

A patient bill of rights where we can choose what type of treatment or prevention medicine we want based on our own beliefs. Alternative medicine which is in most cases more effective and far less expensive needs to be a choice/ MAny countries offer these choices it is time we took the lead in this area.

Gay military members

If we really have nationalized health care for ALL, there is no place for insurance companies. Yet, any discussion about re-doing health care in this country begins with the insurance companies at the table. That's absurd!

Where we are providing real security, and rebuilding infrastructure, we are welcome. Where we are drone bombing, and terrifying the Afghani people we are not. Acting as police force we can help, as an occupying army we turn the people against us.

Economists are now saying that unemployment will likely be higher than 10% this summer in the country - and even higher in many minority communities. What is Congress going to do both to help the unemployed and to create new jobs?

Elected representives should be on the social security program, so as to give the appearance that we the united states are a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Not governed by the elite.

The Federal Reserve Banking System is a for-profit privately owned set of banks that have a congressionally approved monopoly on creating money supply out of thin air from making loans (debt) to other banks and charing interest in this debt. The US government needs to take back the money making and currency printing functions given to the Fed. We did this under president Lincoln and do it now in the State of North Dakota. Removing the debt-based money system at the federal level would solve much of the current financial crisis.

How do we get ourselves out of the quagmire we've found ourselves in in Afghanistan?
