Polls show that Dem's loose support - and Obama too - not due to the "public option" like the media spin states, but when Congress and Obama were softening on "public option", "Medicare for All" or "Universal Healthcare".
Requiring mandatory insurance does nothing more than give a blank check to insurance companies. That's an insult.
Dem's will loose every election in 2010 if they can't develop a platform or a message pointing out the massive failures from the last 10 years (which shouldn't be too difficult). The public should be reminded frequently that it was GOP economics that created this mess and the last thing we need is more deregulation, or another industry that's allowed to become "to big to fail".
I honestly don't know who I'm more angry with; the GOP, the public for being so stupid or the Dem's for flubbing this up.
I didn't vote for Liberman or Snowe. Compromise and we'll have a bill that no one likes. Republican's have NEVER been interested in bipartisanship.
My doctor provides my medical care, not my insurance company. No one can explain why an insurance company has anything to do with my health. There is a far greater chance of not being treated or under-treated with insurance, not the reverse.

Reconciliation needs 60 votes to pass procedure votes.

Reconciliation is the only path available to get past the corporate-owned Repugnicants and ConserviDems. Legislation for true Health Care Reform, Green Energy, etc., will NEVER happen if we continue to play nice and fair with those who never do. Before the 2010 elections is probably our last chance to help our nation and this planet. Long live the Public Option.
