Polls show that Dem's loose support - and Obama too - not due to the "public option" like the media spin states, but when Congress and Obama were softening on "public option", "Medicare for All" or "Universal Healthcare".
Requiring mandatory insurance does nothing more than give a blank check to insurance companies. That's an insult.
Dem's will loose every election in 2010 if they can't develop a platform or a message pointing out the massive failures from the last 10 years (which shouldn't be too difficult). The public should be reminded frequently that it was GOP economics that created this mess and the last thing we need is more deregulation, or another industry that's allowed to become "to big to fail".
I honestly don't know who I'm more angry with; the GOP, the public for being so stupid or the Dem's for flubbing this up.
I didn't vote for Liberman or Snowe. Compromise and we'll have a bill that no one likes. Republican's have NEVER been interested in bipartisanship.
My doctor provides my medical care, not my insurance company. No one can explain why an insurance company has anything to do with my health. There is a far greater chance of not being treated or under-treated with insurance, not the reverse.

Attempting to compromise ends up with a bill that neither party's base will accept. Dem's should know by now - after 12 years of this - that Republican's have no intention of compromising or bipartisanship. It's another ruse.
I did not vote for Liberman or Snowe. If anything, lack of public support is due to Dem's being seen as the same as Republican's - so why bother if there's no difference between the party's?
The more difference Dem's can create with their message, the more support they will have - after all, this mess was created by GOP economics. So why aren't Dem's reminding people of that?

This is the health REFORM started by Truman 61 years ago and it's about TIME!
Once people experienced feeling secure with their healthcare, they wouldn't want to go back to anything else. It would be the "waterloo" for Republican's. And they know it.
Medicare for All is what it should have been from the beginning. If Dem's can't agree on a platform = time consuming, confusing chaos that's seen as weak and worthless. That's what happened in Mass. Burnout. It's already taken so much time, Dem's have lost their base or have no idea what's on the table anymore.
There is no way I want mandatory insurance without an option to choose Medicare. That's an insult and the fast track to creating ANOTHER industry "to big to allow to fail". No Republican should be allowed near a budget for a long time to come - why aren't Dem's reminding the public who created this mess? Plan D had no public option (GOP) and raised drug prices by 60% (per AARP). Yes, I'm angry.
The fact Dem's flubbed this up only proves they can do nothing once again. "How can a political party be so stupid" (referring to Dem's) -- F. Zappa, 1986

14,000 are loosing access to healthcare daily. No one can afford COBRA. Most people over the age of 18 have some "preexisting" condition (like acne). Waiting 4 years will amount to maybe a quarter of a million who died because they could get healthcare.

Will you pledge to vote against any final bill with co-ops or triggers instead of the Public option?

Plan D had a trigger and ... so what? It was useless. The plan turned into a windfall for private insurance and drug manufacturers. Everyone else got a 60% increase in drug prices plus government (including Medicaid) was restricted from negotiating prices. Essentially raising taxes to because of that.

I got a call from Kyl and McCain for a telephone town hall. It was obviously a pre-recorded message are repeated every lie possible - in every other line. "government run", "rationed", "socialist" and used inflated numbers declaring Medicare bankrupt and failed. People were giving bogus examples why they'd have to switch to the "public option" (who thought of that name - it even sounds like welfare). I don't know how they sleep at night.
It's one thing to battle a misleading news network and newspaper that won't print some stories - but it's a whole different ball game when Senators are lying and know it.
Something must be done to hold them accountable.

Why do insurance companies have so much say in the healthcare reform debate? Because WE (voters) don't. It's corrupt.
I want to know why 60% (or more) people want single-payer and it's not represented in the news either.

Democrats have no platform anymore. Attempting compromise is only producing the same thing as Republican's since they aren't interested in bipartisanship. Voters won't vote for Democrats without a difference and the more the better. Palin's proving that (YIKES).
How many people voted for Liberman or Snowe yet it appears as if they are leading the debate. That's not "populist". That's nothing but fear and spineless. It's not respectable or "democratic" when the minority has been given permission to lead the majority. Mass. is what happens when the base is not ignited because there's no difference between the party's.
