I believe what we're saying in unison is that we are tired of a "bona fide" two-tiered system of the "haves" and "have-nots" when it comes to health. Health is not like any other consumer item -- it cannot be budgeted for by the family, as no one can see into the future. Only when a catastrophic event occurs do we suffer the ramifications.
Of course, there will REMAIN a two-tiered system, the wealthier will always be able to get MORE, and this is fine, but when it comes to healthcare, the insurance companies have the MONOPOLY on those who have ANY at all -- and they appear to be bribing the politicians on both sides to allow them to keep it intact legally. Basic healthcare should be a right in such a rich nation as ours.
The vital players in the healthcare system - physicians, hospitals, nurses -- are powerless to affect this monopoly, though they now wish to do so. ONLY CONGRESS can do that. I have always called myself a liberal Democrat, I have begun to simply call myself a Liberal, after having seen the spineless Democrats who are so obviously beholden to the Insurance Lobbyists. They seem to misguidedly believe that they will continue to "buy" their re-elections. This is simply NOT TRUE any longer. We are people who DO have insurance but have seen the effects upon those without; as well as those without any at all, and we are rising in unison to speak. Why? Because you are not speaking for us.
We have learned to ferret out those who receive the "dirty" money, and we now know it appears to be ALL OF YOU! I believe it is the one truly bipartisan event I have witnessed since I began to vote in 1980 -- this across-the-aisle bribery. PLEASE, TURN OFF YOUR TWEETERS FOR A BIT AND BEGIN DOING WHAT WE VOTED YOU IN TO DO! FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, LET THE PROCESS BEGIN!
